Joe Paterno, PSU Officials ‘Concealed’ Sandusky’s Abuse to Avoid Bad Publicity: Report
Former Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno and other top university officials acted with “total disregard” for the children sexually abused by former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky because of their fear of “bad publicity,” a report by the university’s internal investigation said today.
The report was released at the conclusion of the investigation led by former FBI director Louis Freeh…

I wonder if the Penn State students are made of the right stuff to tear down Paterno’s statue, or do they put football above the raping innocent of children?
No wonder Paterno died so quickly.
Will the NCAA shut down their football program at Pedo State? Was Jerry Sandusky the only pedophile they were hiding for 14 years? Will their enrollment drop?
Lawyers, start your engines.
This story has legs. Long legs.
Thanks, Joe Pa.

Better Visit the Barrier Reef Before It’s Gone
Environmentalists say the nation’s unprecedented resources boom, which will see some US$500 billion pumped into gas, oil and mining projects in coming years, has come at the cost of the environment.
The United Nations has warned the Great Barrier Reef is at risk, while some scientists say it may already be too late to save it due to surging levels of shipping, offshore gas and oil exploration and port expansion.

Time To Deflate Photo
Artist paints photographic portraits
Contemporary painter, Alyssa Monks, 35, creates realist images that could easily be mistaken for photographs–using filters such as glass, vinyl, water, and steam, Monks “distorts the body in shallow painted spaces.” She has exhibited in Germany, Greece, Australia, and the United States, and taught painting at the New York Academy of Art and the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. Monks currently lives and paints in Brooklyn, New York. This painting is called ‘As Is’ (2011). All images are courtesy of the artist.

I am truly surprised at your ongoing, snarky comments regarding Joe Paterno and Penn State. You headline the most recent report as an “FBI” report, when it is nothing of the sort. It is an internal investigation, done at the behest of the PSU Board of Trustees, by Louis Freeh, who has a rather spotty background and history bordering on biased incompetence. You further descend to the same depths of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh by posing loaded, broadly-brushed questions like “I wonder if the Penn State students are made of the right stuff to tear down Paterno’s statue, or do they put football above the raping innocent of children?” and “Will the NCAA shut down their football program at Pedo State? Was Jerry Sandusky the only pedophile they were hiding for 14 years? Will their enrollment drop? ” Pedo State? Are you for real? Three of my family have graduated from Penn State, having received a superior education at one of the best universities in the country. They, and thousands of graduates and alumni would certainly take exception at your illogical remarks. You have chosen to indict and convict Joe Paterno when the grand jury did not, just like the media did early on. Would you like to be prejudged in this manner? I will confidently answer the question you pose at the top of this page, Lisa: Thousands will continue to pose with Joe Paterno, standing by him in recognition of his 61 years of service to Penn State, and scorning persons like you, who care not that he died before he was able to defend himself and his actions against vicious and unproven allegations made by cheap bloggers like you. What happened, Lisa, did Penn State deny you admission when you were trying to get into college? After 12 years of humor, you are no longer funny at all.
The report did conclude, that Paterno was complicit in protecting Jerry Sandusky. The emails prove it. Your own university believes it. What more proof do you need? A video of Joe Pa saying the reputation of the football program is at stake, so we’ve got to keep this quiet?
Thank you, I did change the incorrect FBI report headline but it doesn’t change the facts.
I feel for you and the fine people of Penn State but you are risking further ridicule for years by backing a pedophile protector who was a great football coach.
I would have made snarkier comments if the football coach of my alma mater did what Paterno did and didn’t do. I would have been on it like white on rice.
Your gut is going to churn more than anything AHNC said when you see the cruel signs by students at football games this fall, especially from the opposing side.
I won’t take a cheap shot at you but I will answer your question, “What happened, Lisa, did Penn State deny you admission when you were trying to get into college?”
No, I never considered attending Penn State. Never crossed my mind. I chose Florida State.
The right thing to do, in my humble opinion, is remove Paterno and all his accomplices from your adoration, and feel for the victims, those young boys whose lives were dirtied forever.
Then you can proudly say, “We are Penn State.”
Touchy, touchy, David. Would you be so sensitive if (or, sadly, when) this had occurred at some other university?
There is no excuse for the actions of anyone who helped in this cover-up. None.
I cannot believe that any group of responsible adults, be it the members, clergy or hierarchy of the Catholic church or the faculty and staff at Penn State, would stand by and allow something like this to occur.
I guess I am wrong. Apparently all too many would stand by and aid and abet such acts to protect their institution.
I don’t believe in god but I’ll bet Joe Paterno did and, if I am wrong and he was right, he’s paying for this now. I hope he’s enjoying himself.
