    The key factor in Reagan’s election over Jimmy Carter was the intervention of Casey and GHW Bush in private meetings in Paris with the Iranians to prevent the release of U.S. hostages being held in Tehran. That was the beginning of the Iran Contra affair and, unfortunately, the ascension of the Reagan/Bush/Bubba who won’t let anybody attack Ameria rise to power.
