Rumsfeld retreats, disclaims earlier rhetoric
Rumsfeld denies he ever made several pre-war statements.
November 09. 2003 8:30AM BY ERIC ROSENBERG HEARST NEWSPAPERS

..."Do you expect the invasion, if it comes, to be welcomed by the majority of the civilian population of Iraq?" Jim Lehrer asked the defense secretary on PBS' "The News Hour."

"There is no question but that they would be welcomed,"...

..."Before the war in Iraq, you stated the case very eloquently and you said . . . they would welcome us with open arms," Sinclair Broadcasting anchor Morris Jones said to Rumsfeld as the prelude to a question.

The defense chief quickly cut him off.
"Never said that," he said. "Never did. You may remember it well, but you're thinking of somebody else. You can't find, anywhere, me saying anything like either of those two things you just said I said."...

Subject: SHOW SOME RESPECT!!!!

How dare you make fun of a man (Ronald Reagan) who
right now is in critical condition and just keep
poking fun at him. Even if you didn't like him the
leased you can do is show your respect. God's sake he
is 92 years old and very ill. How would you like it if
you were almost dying and I made disrespectful
pictures of you? I have more dignity then that.
Thankfully CBS cancelled their horrible insulting
portrayal of one of our great Presidents (Roosevelt
was my favorite however). You have a right to free
speech but PLEEEASE have some respect.

=====
‡‡‡ GOD BLESS AMERICA! ‡‡‡

I didn't make any disrespectful pictures of Ronald Reagan.  This is an actual picture of Reagan expressing his disdain

for those who disagree with him. This picture ran in every major newspaper in the 1980's when Reagan decided to make faces.

Too bad Reagan didn't show respect for the mess he made in Iraq and Iran-Contra.

Ronald Reagan sent Donald Rumsfeld to sell WMDs to Saddam Hussein, see pic below.

A picture is worth a thousand words, eh?

Thank God for the Internet that Al Gore invented.

Here's my latest song parody about the CBS Ronald Reagan brouhahah, rightwing pressure tactics, and media cowardice:

St. Reagan's Song (to be sung to "Just You Wait" from "My Fair Lady")

He's a saint, Ronald Reagan, he's a saint!
You'll be sorry if you dare to say, he ain't.
A fine bloke who's kind and cunning,
Beat the Russians, great with money.
He's a saint, Ronald Reagan, he's a saint!

Reagan's great, scream the wingnuts. Stop that flick!
Don't you dare disparage Reagan. They'll be ticked!
They'll go off and say we're haters,
Threaten boycotts, claim we're traitors.
He's a saint, Ronald Reagan, he's a saint!

Subject: Bush as Jesus pictures

You've seen the spate of Bush as Jesus pictures.  I know this because
yourecently carried an animated graphic of the Bush/Lord/Crown pic.  So...

I'm not religious - I'm a devout atheist - but in my recent encounters
with believers in invisible sky beings I came across this New Testament
quote which seems particularly germane to the recent spate of Bush as Jesus
pictures.  Perhaps you might like to collect them together along with
the biblical quote.  Below is the KJV version, the other bible translations
give different  renditions which are stronger in some places and weaker
in others.  Taken together, they are downright scary.

2 Thessalonians 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that
day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man
of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that
is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the
temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Now, does that describe George WaNker Bush or does that describe George
WaNker Bush?  He has certainly had his spin-merchants "shew" him as God
in those recent pictures.  Well, Jesus-God as opposed to God-God or
Ghost-God, whom are all really God, but God is different from God-God
in some ineffable way (sorry, as an atheist I still find the concept of
the trinity incomprehensible gibberish).

Interesting point...  The Anti-Christ is assumed by most people to be
the antithesis of Christ.  In actual fact, according to religious
dogma, the Anti-Christ is an imposter falsely claiming to be Christ in His
second coming.  That is not George Wanker Bush - YET - but he loves
playing dress-up...

bdf

Thanks for writing bdf. Shame on George Bush.  But he did tell us that Jesus was his favorite political philosopher.

Yet, I have not found any Biblical reference on attacking your neighbors in a pre-emptive strike.  Has anyone?

Subject: Your website

Dear Lisa,
A friend brought to my attention your web site. I laughed my butt off. It's amazing to me that you really believe all the stuff you print. Although most of the material is getting old, you know, the stuff about republicans/conservatives polluting the air and water, mega tax breaks for the rich, pulling the wings off of butterflies, etc. However, there's nothing more enjoying than listening to liberals whine and whine about those "mean old republicans".
Sincerely,
DQ
p.s. By the way, you might want to loose the cowboy hat. It really looks stupid when liberals/elitists wear clothing items that are normally worn by average people.

The Republicans have lifted pollution regulations on old factories.  Guess you missed that news. Click on this link for an education Groups protest changes to air act

Look at the budget deficit since Dubya gave all those tax cuts. Bush does fuzzy math.  My math shows if you don't have the money and you give a huge tax cut, you run a deficit. I only got one tax cut last year from Bush.  $400 dollars because I have a child. I still haven't received the one I am supposed to get this year.

The picture below is someone that looks really funny wearing a hat.

Thanks for writing.
