Leak Probe Moves Beyond White House, CIA KATV, AR - 10-3-03 Washington (AP) - Casting a wider net, federal investigators are asking the Defense and State departments to preserve any potential evidence that might shed light on who leaked the name of an undercover CIA officer. The Justice Department sent letters Thursday to the two agencies requesting preservation of phone logs, e-mails and other documents that could become evidence in the inquiry, senior law enforcement officials said.... |
Bernstein: Novak Allowed Himself to Be Used
...Bernstein said he would not have disclosed the name of the CIA employee if he had been in Novak's shoes, but would have, instead, sought to find out why the name was being leaked. "The real story here was always what the White House did in terms of going to Novak," he said. "If somebody from the White House called me under those circumstances, I would not print that she was a CIA operative. The story would be the conduct of the White House." |
First a Leak, Then a Predictable Pattern
|
I wonder what the results would be if a poll was taken of CIA employees concerning the White House. My guess:
99% Feel less secure as a CIA employee because a co-worker was outed July 14, 2003 and no investigation was begun until this week.
1% No comment because we fear being outed.

MOUNT GRAHAM, Ariz. - The Skull
and Bones Society admitted to Apache leaders 17 years ago that they had a skull
they call "Geronimo’s" in their secret cult museum in New Haven, Conn. Still,
his remains have not been returned.
Raleigh Thompson, former San Carlos Apache tribal councilman for 16 years, said
it is time to bring Geronimo home to be buried in the mountains that he loved.
"Geronimo left his rifle and peace pipe here when they took him away," Thompson
said....
"The big story in Washington seems to be this leak of this CIA agents name. President Bush is furious and told his staff today 'This one time I want the truth and I want the truth now.' And they told him 'You lost the election, you're not really president.'" —Jay Leno

Misuse of Pain Drug Linked to Hearing Loss Doctors in L.A. and elsewhere have identified at least 48 cases of deafness tied to prolonged misuse of Vicodin and other comparable prescription medicines. A powerful and potentially addictive painkiller used by millions of Americans is causing rapid hearing loss, even deafness, in some patients who are misusing the drug, according to hearing researchers in Los Angeles and elsewhere... Gee, do you think that Rush caused his own
hearing loss by being an abuser of this drug? |

Schwarzenegger Admired Hitler, Book Proposal Says
By ADAM NAGOURNEY and DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK - NYTIMES
October 3, 2003
A film producer who chronicled Arnold Schwarzenegger's rise to fame as a
champion bodybuilder in the 1970's circulated a book proposal six years ago that
quoted the young Mr. Schwarzenegger expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler...
In addition to the transcript, Mr.
Butler wrote in his book proposal that in the 1970's, he considered Mr.
Schwarzenegger a "flagrant, outspoken admirer of Hitler." In the proposal, Mr.
Butler also said he had seen Mr. Schwarzenegger playing "Nazi marching songs
from long-playing records in his collection at home" and said that the actor
"frequently clicked his heels and pretended to be an S.S. officer." ...
Republicans impeached Bill Clinton for having a consensual affair and now support Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Gropinator. I'm beginning to think that the GOP are just a bunch of voyeurs. Naw, I always thought that.
